A fun 2 hour workshop workshop held over two Saturday’s in February at the Neighbourhood Centre, perfect for beginners and adventure seekers.
Do you love the outdoors and want to learn how to navigate an area without the use of a smart phone?
The Local Learning Hub invites you to join us for two Saturday afternoons in February to learn the basics of map reading, orienteering and navigation.
During the two workshops you will learn:
# The basics of navigation and map reading
# How to get yourself out of an emergency situation without phone coverage
# How to plan your next bush walking, camping or adventure
# How to read a compass
Where: Location, Hervey Bay Community Centre, 22 Charles Street, Pialba
When: Saturdays 13 and 20th of February (This is a two week course)
Time: 2.00pm – 4.00pm
Cost: $10 per person (includes 2-hour instruction over two weeks, and tea and coffee)
Bring: BYO compass (not on a smartphone) or purchase one when you book a ticket for $12.
