The luxury dress hire movement has been sweeping Australia as more women turn away from fast fashion in favour of sustainability, quality, and timeless style. Now, it’s the Fraser Coast’s turn with the launch of Moments Dress Collective, the region’s first dedicated luxury gown hire — bringing high-end fashion to women both locally and across the country.
As formal season celebrations continue throughout the year across the Fraser Coast, Moments Dress Collective is helping women — and especially Year 12 students — look and feel their best for life’s biggest moments.
The boutique offers designer and boutique-label gowns for hire from around $100 for a four-day rental, roughly a quarter of the retail price.
Founded by Hervey Bay creative Nicky Fernandes, Moments Dress Collective was born from a passion for sustainability and a desire to make luxury fashion accessible to everyone — from school formal attendees to wedding guests, gala-goers or photoshoots.
“Every woman deserves to feel incredible for her special moment,” said Nicky. “But that doesn’t have to mean spending hundreds on a dress you’ll only wear once. Dress hire lets you enjoy high-quality designer fashion for a fraction of the price — while making a more sustainable choice.”
Operating primarily online, the studio offers Australia-wide express postage with prepaid return satchels included, free local pick-up, and try-ons by appointment at its private Hervey Bay location.
It’s a convenient option for women wanting to stand out without the risks of online fast fashion or having to travel to a big city for more choice; simply hire and return.
The collection features around 80 gowns, from labels including Lia Stublla, Tania Olsen, Studio Lexi, Nookie, and Studio Minc to name a few, in sizes 4 to 14. Each piece is cleaned and ready to wear.
In a new initiative, Moments Dress Collective will soon offer consignment opportunities for locals to earn money from their pre-loved gowns — promoting a sustainable, circular fashion community on the Fraser Coast.
“Every dress represents a story — a celebration, a milestone, a moment,” said Nicky. “That’s why we call it Moments Dress Collective — because every woman deserves hers.”
