In the heart of the Fraser Coast, Chloe Brown stands as a testament to resilience and transformation. Having endured the harrowing realities of domestic violence (DV), she emerged not only as a survivor but as a formidable advocate for change. As the founder and director of Shine Bright Mental Health, Chloe has dedicated her life to supporting women and children affected by DV, ensuring they find solace, support, and a path forward.
Shine Bright Mental Health offers a sanctuary for those navigating the aftermath of trauma. With services ranging from private counselling to NDIS support coordination, the organisation emphasises empowerment and compassion, walking alongside individuals on their journey to healing. Chloe’s personal experiences infuse the organisation’s ethos, fostering an environment where clients feel seen, heard, and valued.
Central to Chloe’s advocacy is the annual “One Day at a Time” Gala, now in its third year. Scheduled for September 27, 2025, at Maryborough City Hall, this event is more than a fundraiser; it’s a beacon of hope. The 2025 gala spotlights children impacted by DV, aiming to raise funds for essential therapeutic services like play therapy, which are often inaccessible due to financial constraints. Through partnerships with organisations such as Yoorana, Centacare, and ACT for Kids, Shine Bright ensures that the funds directly benefit the local community.

The evening promises a blend of inspiration and entertainment. Attendees will hear from keynote speaker Jelena Dokic, whose personal journey from tennis stardom to DV survivor resonates deeply with the gala’s mission. Musical performances by Emma Newman and the Rhubarb Tarts will set the tone for a night of unity and purpose.
All proceeds from the gala will support the newly established Shine Bright Foundation, ensuring sustained assistance for women and children in the Fraser Coast region. Chloe’s unwavering commitment transforms personal pain into collective empowerment, reminding us that with support and solidarity, healing is possible.
