Winter Solstice Retreat by the Sea

Winter Solstice Retreat by the Sea

As the longest night of the year approaches, we invite you to lean into the stillness. While the world often demands more during the holidays, the winter solstice is nature’s own reminder to slow down, honour the quiet, and gather our internal energy reserves. Our Winter Solstice Retreat by the Sea on June 20 is an intentionally slow, spacious, and deeply nourishing experience designed to help you reset your inner rhythm alongside a world-class team of practitioners.

A Sanctuary for Renewal

Set against the backdrop of the stunning coast at the Hervey Bay Sailing Club, this retreat offers a perfect time to pause and realign as the sun begins its return. You will be held in a supportive community, moving through a curated blend of restorative practices:

Faye Schindler

Faye Schindler: The Vitality of Vinyasa
With 25+ years of expertise, Faye is a catalyst for vitality. Her approach to vinyasa is rooted in anatomy and physiology, honed through training with Bodhi Yoga, Sydney, which included pranayama, meditation, asanas, mudras, and adjustments and Japanese Yoga Masterclass training with Saburo Ishu of Family Yoga Inc, of Tokyo. Her style is a dynamic fusion of postures, designed to challenge you while soothing the spirit. Utilising mudras and breathing, she empowers students to bridge the gap between physical fitness and inner peace, proving that disciplined movement can unlock one’s healthiest, most energetic self.

Linda Gillespie

Linda Gillespie – The Path of Presence
Linda is a guide to embodied awareness, working at the intersection of body, mind, and meaningful change. With a background in Zen Shiatsu, yoga, and mindfulness-based practices, she offers a deeply intuitive, practical approach. Influenced by Buddhist monastic studies in Delhi under the 17th Karmapa, her work is deeply grounded. As a Certified Mindfulness Teacher, Integrative Health Coach, and women’s mental health practitioner, Linda creates inclusive spaces to slow down, listen, and reconnect with themselves beneath the noise. Currently studying somatic therapy, her sessions foster emotional regulation, nervous system balance, and a resilient, steady way of being.

Tamara Oliver

Tamara Oliver: The Sanctuary of Stillness
In a world that prizes speed, Tamara offers a radical alternative: the invitation to slow down. As a Yin Yoga instructor, Tamara views the mat as a sanctuary where “doing” is replaced by “simply being.” Her teachings are heart-led and grounded in somatic awareness. Currently immersed in the study of Tantric Yin Yoga, Tamara’s offerings focus on nervous system support and the healing potential of stillness. Her sessions are about softening into the present moment with tender awareness, allowing you to find magic in the quiet depths of the breath.

Ken Schindler

Ken Schindler: Sonic Tapestries
Ken’s musical journey began at age nine with guitar lessons, later learning by ear. Ken came to study the art of lutherie and hand-crafted custom instruments. Today, he translates his musical knowledge into ethereal, improvisational soundscapes inspired by yoga and meditation. Blending melodic guitar with crystal bowl sound baths, he creates a vivid, restorative tapestry of sonic colour and healing resonance that serves as the heart of our practice.
