Fraser Coast Expo delivers $30M in sales

The annual Wide Bay and Fraser Coast Home Show and Caravan, Camping, 4×4 and Fishing Expo is the largest event of its type in Queensland attracting nearly 20,000 visitors over three days.

Event organiser, Bob Carroll from Australian Events, said the event began nearly ten years ago as a promotional showcase for the local housing and building industry but expanded rapidly when he tapped into the leisure side of lifestyle on the Fraser Coast.

“People are often surprised at what they can have done locally and what they can buy locally and the high level of professionalism in the building and renovation industry locally. People move here because of the brilliant lifestyle and homes often reflect that with a big emphasis on outdoor living.”

Fraser Coast Tourism and Events are pushing hard for people to holiday locally and in that regard this event is heaven sent. Research shows that anyone buying a caravan, camper trailer, motor home, 4×4 or boat will use those leisure vehicles within a 3 hour drive most of the time. That is great news for local tourism and keeping the tourist dollar in the local economy.

“We have over 200 companies on show with the very latest caravans, camper trailers, motor homes, four wheel drives and boats ever seen in one event in Queensland. On top of that there is a massive range of accessories to go with caravanning, boating and off road motoring. We have huge incentives to buy at the event with people sure to save thousands of dollars on major purchases.

Last year there was over $30M in sales transacted over a three month period as a direct result of the event so the impact on the local economy is substantial. “

Free entertainment includes bush cooking with Ranger Nick, Australiana cooking demos with celebrity chef Peter Wolfe, a four wheel drive demonstration track, free rides for kids and for the first time a boating and fishing precinct featuring the Berkley Supertank Fishing Show. We suggest people log on to www.widebayhomeshow.com.au and register to receive updates and a chance to win free passes to the event and find out how to win great prizes including a Climate Control Systems split air conditioning system for their home.
