October 28 – Torbanlea Picnic Races – Gates open 9.00 am for 9.30 start. Thoroughbred, Arab and Quarter-horse races, Team Tug-O-War Challenge, Wood Chop, Fashions on the Field, Children’s entertainment and activities, Transport with Wide Bay Transport, Tickets on sale at the gates, $10, children under 14 free. For more information email: burrumrra@gmail.com. All the proceeds from the day are given back to the community by improving and maintaining the grounds. These grounds have provided a home ground and training facilities for three different codes of football, Little Athletics, and the Burrum District Riders at affordable rates, without this many juniors would be unable to participate in sports in their local area.
