Advertorial

Deanne and Julie – Owners of The Ibis Next Door, talk about their unique products, and the huge range that they have on offer.

Tell us a bit about the Owners of The Ibis Next Door?

We are a locally owned small business venture run by two friends, who have a similar sense of humour and love beautiful things.

If you had to give your store a label what would it be?

People that come through the door often say the shop is quirky and we do like to think we have different things to offer.

Eclectic is a word that sits well in describing our store as we carry such a variety of products. From the quirky edible bugs and fun cards to ultra-modern resin jewellery, and feminine and masculine homewares and gifts. We also stock an increasing range of easy to wear clothes including T-shirts for men and a few curiosities for the discerning customer.

What kind of products/goods can people expect to find on entering the doors?

We sell a wide range of products:

  • Clothing, jewellery, and accessories
  • Homewares, tableware, soft furnishings
  • Gifts
  • Regionally sourced jams, chutneys, and relishes

Where do you purchase your products from?

Because we have such a vast range of products, we source our products from a huge range of places. We make some of our products ourselves, including some of our silver jewellery and a calligraphy range. We also stock products from artists and crafters across the Fraser Coast and South Burnett area. We then extend our range of Australian made products to as far south as Tasmania, by stocking small, independent crafters and makers. This also means that we have items that you can’t find in a big chain store.

Also within our store, we have focused on ranges from international fair trade suppliers whose products are ethically sourced and environmentally friendly.

What else would you like us to know?

Along with our resident shop dogs Dora & Hippy we pride ourselves on our honest friendly service.

Where are you located?

The Salt Café Retail Precinct under the Oaks Resort in Urangan. Parking is available under Oaks for our customers (entry via Hibiscus Street).

What are your opening hours?

‘8amish’ to ‘3pmish’. We follow the Salt Café opening hours, so we sometimes open a bit earlier and a bit later depending on the needs of customers, we are closed on Tuesdays.
