Across Queensland’s beautiful Fraser Coast, a special initiative a wonderful initiative is helping older residents reconnect with their community through the joy of giving back. The QLD Seniors Volunteering Project, led by Volunteering Queensland, is a vibrant pilot program designed to help older Queenslanders find meaningful and fulfilling volunteer opportunities in their communities.

At the forefront of this initiative are the Fraser Coast Volunteer Ambassadors—passionate, community-minded locals who act as friendly guides for seniors ready to share their time, skills, and life experience. These ambassadors are more than just volunteers— they’re local champions who connect people with opportunities that truly make a difference.

How Our Ambassadors Can Support You

Our Fraser Coast Volunteer Ambassadors are here to make your volunteering journey easy, enjoyable, and rewarding. Here’s how they can help:

• Share helpful tips and guidance to get you started through our welcoming “Get into Volunteering” information sessions.
• Help to connect you with local volunteer opportunities that align with your interests, skills, and availability.
• Provide friendly support and encouragement during the early stages of your volunteering experience, helping you feel confident and connected.

With their warm approach and wealth of local knowledge, our ambassadors are passionate about helping older Queenslander’s rediscover purpose, build new friendships, and stay active in their communities.

To support their work, the Seniors Volunteering Project also equips ambassadors with a comprehensive toolkit of resources, ensuring they’re ready to assist you every step of the way.
