Get along to the Mary Christmas Street Party

Come on down to the Mary Christmas – Maryborough Street Party which will take centre stage around the Maryborough City Hall and Adelaide and Kent Streets, Maryborough between 2pm – 9:30pm.

Grab your last-minute Christmas gifts from market stalls along Adelaide and Kent from 2pm

A variety of tasty Tucker will be there again, including delights from some of our local Cafes from 2pm.

Local artists Emma Newman and the Just Us Duo will sing their hearts out, the musical twists and tunes of MUSO’s, a local Ukulele band, will strum out Christmas cheer from 2pm.

A dedicated mini pet expo will operate alongside festivities on the Lennox Street greens with all things “pet-ty” and a special “Pooches on Parade” will delight and help raise funds for Maryborough Animal Refuge. Between 2pm and 6pm.

Our very first, away from the Status Quo, Pin-Up pageant featuring gorgeous Rockabilly and SteamPunk contestants, will commence with judging on stage at the corner of Kent and Adelaide Streets from 3:30pm so bring down your loudest cheering voices.

Children will be entertained by Day Care Centres and Kindergartens in the Children’s activity corner along the front of City Hall from 2pm.

Rides and face painting will be set up ready to go from 2pm-8pm with an Armband deal for an unlimited pass on selected rides and face painting for just $25. We even have dinner sorted for the kiddies within the Armband deal including a cold drink and Dagwood dog.

Santa and Mrs Claus will arrive by vintage vehicle at 5:30 and make their way to the City Christmas Tree where you can take your own photos.

Back by popular demand, Soul City will hit the Greens Stage from 6pm – 9:30.

The community permit bar will be in operation for a celebratory beverage with your mates and work peers from 4pm – No BYO.

It’s shaping up to be a great afternoon and night so start getting your groups organised and we’ll see you there from 2pm.

HERVEY BAY

 Hervey Bay RSL Carols by Candlelight – Seafront Oval, Pialba

Saturday, December 14

5.30pm – 8.30pm

A free community event featuring Christmas carols, fireworks, food & drinks available or bring a picnic. BYO chairs and rugs. *Smoke, alcohol & pet-free event.

 

 RSL Picnic in the Park – Hervey Bay – Freedom Park, Main St, Pialba

Christmas Day

No need to be alone on Christmas day. RSL Picnic in the Park provides a community gathering place for anyone who might not have somewhere to spend their Christmas Day. Everyone is welcome to join in the festivities. Lunch starts at 12noon with fruit platters followed by sliced ham, cold chicken and salads, ending with fruit cake and custard. Vegan & Gluten-free options will be available. Santa pays us a visit around 2.30pm, everyone gets a small gift.

The event is organised and run by volunteers in partnership with Hervey Bay RSL & the Fraser Coast Regional Council.

The day is a non-smoking and dog/pet-free event.

 

BURRUM HEADS

Burrum Heads Christmas Party – Community Hall, Burrum Heads Rd

Saturday, December 7

3pm to 6pm

There will be a Jumping Castle, Waterslide, Rock Climbing Wall, Water ‘Dunking’ Machine and a BBQ catered by the Burrum Heads SES.

Carols by Candlelight – In the Community Church Grounds

Bring a rug or a folding chair

If there is bad weather on the night the event will be held at the Community Hall

 

MARYBOROUGH

Carols in the Park – Queens Park – Maryborough

December 8

 Held in conjunction with the Apex Santa Fair, which commences at 2:30pm.

The Apex Santa Fair runs from 2.30pm to 5.30pm with kids rides, face painting, jumping castles and much more.

The Carols will begin at 5.30pm, with the Maryborough RSL fireworks finale at 8.00pm.

There will be a full program of entertainment. Bring a picnic, rug and/or folding chair.

 Friday, December 6

Gates open 4.30pm

Come early for a sausage sandwich supplied by the P& C. Concert starts at 6pm. Santa will be making a special appearance.
