Fraser Coast businesses wanting to learn more about what information, services and products are available to help them grow are encouraged to attend a free expo in Hervey Bay later this month.

Deputy Mayor Darren Everard said about 40 local businesses and government departments would be exhibiting at the Fraser Coast Business Expo 2021, which was being held at the Beach House in Scarness on Thursday 29 July between 2pm and 7pm.

“Our Council is committed to working with small businesses to grow the local economy, keep people employed and create new jobs,” he said.

“The Fraser Coast Business Expo is part of Council’s $500,000 COVID-19 Economic Stimulus package, which includes a wide range of programs designed to help businesses improve shopfronts, increase sales, reduce costs and share knowledge.

“Speakers at the expo will cover topics such as new technology, social media tips, doing business with Council, human resources changes and State Government small business support.

“There are two sessions – 2pm to 5pm and 5pm to 7pm – with 300 tickets available for each session. Queensland Small Business Commissioner Maree Adshead will be attending and speaking at a business networking event at 5pm.

“Council encourages local businesses to make the most of this opportunity to access information and assistance that will help them to grow and prosper.”

Exhibitors at the Fraser Coast Business Expo include accountants, telecommunications companies, technology specialists, employment agencies, business consultants, IT companies, banks, finance brokers, marketing organisations and education/training organisations.

Council, State Government Departments and the local Chambers of Commerce will also have displays and a significant presence at the expo.

Registration for the Fraser Coast Business Expo 2021 is essential and free tickets can be booked via www.businessfrasercoast.com
