The Witches Market comes to Howard

After a highly successful market in Howard in 2022, the Witches Market returns to Howard on June 24 at Bellert Park as part of the Yule Celebrations.

Take a trip down Howard’s own Diagon Alley and discover all that magic has to offer. If you are looking for supplies or a quirky gift or if you just want to find a fun market with a twist, then you need to come and check out the Witches Market, there’s something for everyone…well, almost everyone.

The Witches Market runs from 10 am to 4 pm and is followed by a Yule Celebration in the QCWA Hall from 6 pm to 10 pm with food, live music and a drumming circle and ritual.

You are encouraged to come dressed up, and there will be prizes for best dressed and a parade at 2 pm.

Markets are free to enter, but tickets to the Yule Celebration are limited and only $45 per person.

For those travelling, there is a free RV park across the road. (Space permitting).

What is Yule:

The Pagan Festival of Yule, also known as the Winter Solstice, is a celebration that marks the shortest day and the longest night of the year. It usually occurs on December 21 or 22 in the Northern Hemisphere and on June 20 or 21 in the Southern Hemisphere.

Yule has its roots in the ancient pagan traditions of the Germanic and Scandinavian peoples and is still celebrated by modern-day Pagans, Wiccans, and other spiritual practitioners. The festival is a time to honour the rebirth of the Sun and the return of the light after the darkest time of the year.

The festival also holds significance for many non-Pagan people around the world, as it coincides with many religious and cultural celebrations.
