10th anniversary of the Tour De Bay

10th anniversary of the Tour De Bay

Pialba, QLD: Fraser Coast’s favorite annual bike ride, the Hervey Bay RSL Tour De Bay, is back.

After the event went virtual under COVID-19 restrictions last year, we want it to be bigger and better than ever for its 10th anniversary.

The Tour De Bay, organised by Hervey Bay Neighbourhood Centre and supported by major sponsor, the Hervey Bay RSL, was started to raise funds for the Youth Mentoring Program – support for vulnerable young people at school. The Youth Mentoring program supports 30 young people through weekly visits.

Riders will be supporting this valuable program as they take in the unparalleled views of Hervey Bay’s Esplanade. We’re hoping to see more than 300 riders taking to the streets of Hervey Bay, enjoying a social ride for a good cause.

Youth Mentoring Coordinator, Rowena Allen, said this vital program could not exist without the generous support of the community.

“Tour De Bay is the highlight of the year, not only because of the excitement of seeing so many riders take to the course but also because the event raises support and awareness of our wonderful Youth Mentoring Program,” Rowena said. “This program makes a real difference in the lives of young people and we can’t wait to see it grow in the future”, she added.

Riders have the option of four routes to choose from: the 5 km, 25 km, 50km or 100km route which are mostly along the scenic-yet-challenging Hervey Bay beachfront.
